Welcome to NASW North Dakota

NASW North Dakota (NASWND) is a chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is the largest professional association of social workers, with over 150,000 members worldwide. NASW has led the way in setting standards for professional practice since the establishment of the Code of Ethics in 1955. NASW works with members and for members to create opportunities within the profession and with those we serve. North Dakota Chapter members have opportunities for continuing education events, involvement in advocacy and social justice, and access to network with social workers across the state.

NASWND serves the critical and diverse needs of the entire social work profession. Wherever you work - whomever you serve - NASWND provides you with a connection to ideas, information, quality resources and colleagues.

We offer our membership information on continuing education, upcoming events, legislative information and web related resources for social workers. A note about our revamped web site:

NASWND has partnered with 7 other NASW chapters (NASW Heartland) to develop a regional web site portal. The eight chapters that are participating in the effort are:

• Iowa
• Kansas
• Minnesota
• Missouri
• Nebraska
• North Dakota
• Oklahoma
• South Dakota

This collaborative effort has allowed the eight chapters to pool financial resources and offer greater web site functionality to our members - including a regional calendar of events. The chapters are currently in different stages of individual chapter web site revisions, but we are all excited to be able to enhance our web presence for all of our members.

As for NASWND, this collaborative effort is especially exciting. When all is said and done, we will have secure member and Board areas, that will include Special Interest Group and Unit forums. In addition, we will also be able to accept credit card payments and complete online registration for face-to-face continuing education opportunities. We will also have online store functionality, and web-based electronic newsletters, which will make it much easier for us to distribute time sensitive information to all of you.

We will be sending out an email about the official launch of our site, that will include member log-in information, once we have sufficient resources uploaded to those areas.

As we continue to build and enhance our NASWND web site, we welcome suggestions and input.
