“Legislative Advocacy: The Who, What, Why & How

Social Workers Should Be Involved”

  • Expand your understanding of the legislative process as a means of advocating for your profession and clients

  • Observe the Legislative process in action in floor debates and committee hearing throughout the day

  • Visit your state Representative and/or Senator to discuss pending legislation relating to social justice issues and social work practice issues

  • Acquire knowledge regarding successful grassroots lobbying techniques

 

Join forces with other social workers statewide and make your voice heard to your elected officials.  Stand up and speak out on important issues facing the social work profession in today’s legislative arena.

 

Registration deadline is Wednesday, February 21, 2018 by 4:30 p.m. with no extensions.  
Pizza lunch is provided.  

Cost - $15.00 for Students and Professionals
3.0 clock hours CE certificate (optional)
