Statement of Goals/Objectives: 
1)      Discuss the impact of technology and the internet in regards to current ethical standards.
2)      Examine changes and potential ethical complications that have resulted because of technology and social media in regards to dual relationships, privacy and confidentiality, improper self-disclosure, etc.
3)      Discuss some guidelines that can help with risk management and avoiding ethical misconduct.

Presenter: Donna is a Licensed Independent Social Worker in the State of Iowa.  She received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1997.  She worked for five years in Omaha, Nebraska at Family Services providing home-based treatment to adolescents involved in the juvenile court system, with men convicted of domestic violence, and providing office based services for individuals and families.  Following this, she worked for 12 years as a clinical social worker at Creative Living Center in Rock Valley, the mental health provider for Sioux County.  For the past four years, she has taught full-time at Northwestern College in Orange City in the social work department, where one of her favorite courses to teach is Ethics in Social Work
