Ethics Training

This is an ethics training for all social workers. It will provide several engaging learning tools to capture your attention, facilitated by members of the NASW-MN Ethics Committee.
Part 1 of the presentation covers the following topics:
- Basic principles underlying ethical thinking
- How to identify ethical dilemmas in our social work practice
- Differentiating Legal, Moral and Ethical dilemmas
- Our obligations under our Code of Ethics and State Licensure for ethical practice
- Discussion of a model for analyzing and resolving ethical dilemmas
- An overview of ethical standards
Throughout, there will be ample opportunities for participant input, and many examples from social work practice will be provided for discussion
Part 2 provides plenty of time for structured case discussion in small groups, using the model presented to analyze an ethical dilemma.
