Cultural Humility within the Mental Health Profession

This educational presentation will focus on the diverse aspects of cultural humility as a mental health clinician.  How and why one should be self-aware?  How Cultural, ethnicity, and race all differ.  Directions from DSM 5, and Missouri DBH approach towards treatment will be explored.  Demographics and associated prevalence.  Major Racial and Ethnic groups to include the LGBTQI community will be surveyed.  Treatment and recovery options for clients will be provided to participants as well.


Participants will be educated on the following:

  1. Cultural Competency Overview
  2. Core Competency for Clinicians
  3. Self Assessment
  4. Culturally Responsive Evaluations and Treatment
  5. Behavioral Treatment for Major Racial & Ethnic Groups
  6. Drug Cultural & Cultural of Recovery
  7. Resources will also be provided.



Registration 8:00 am, workshop 8:30 am - 4:00 pm 

Registration fees-NASW Members $125.00, Other Professional $165.00
