Assessment & Management of Suicidal Risk

Meets 2.0 hour Suicide Prevention Training and Education Requirement for licensure and renewal of licensure.

 

Regardless of specialty area, social workers encounter persons who may be contemplating suicide.  Assessing their risk can be daunting.  This session will cover common screen & assessment tools that are readily available to clinicians, as well as recent research on assessment of suicide risk.  Managing risk through effective safety planning will also be covered.

 

Educational Objectives:

  1. Review suicide screening & assessment tools
  2. Review recent research on suicide
  3. Review aspects of effective safety planning

 

 

 

Registration 8:00 am, workshop 8:30 am - 11:45 am
Registration fees-NASW Members $65.00, Other Professional $85.00
