Augustana College in Rock Island, IL (Quad Cities) is looking for professionals to join our team.  Augustana is a private liberal arts college set on 144 wooded acres with exceptional retention rates as we prepare our students for lives of leadership and service.  We have 2500 students who live and learn on our campus, the vast majority are aged 18-22.  We are looking for dynamic professionals to join our team in the following areas:


Director of Counseling Services

This full time position plans, organizes, and provides administrative direction and oversight for all operations, activities, programs and services of the Counseling Department.  Working with the VP of Student Life/Dean of Students, oversees department planning and program development to meet the needs of students and goals of the college.  Serves as the first response during crisis intervention situations and serves as a member of Augustana’s behavioral risk assessment team.   


Director of Student Wellbeing


This full-time position leads the college’s efforts in creating and implementing mental health promotion and prevention programs, including those utilizing student educators, to address the wellness and mental health needs of the campus.    The Director of Student Wellbeing will develop, implement, and evaluate programs designed to address student mental health including substance abuse and suicide prevention.  Educate and collaborate with faculty and other campus partners who work directly with students, particularly those students identified as underserved and/or high risk.  In addition, the position supervises and coordinates efforts with the Sexual Health Prevention Coordinator.

Job Duties of these rewarding positions as a Hospice Social Worker include:

·   Assesses the psychosocial status of patients and families/caregivers related to the patient. Provides an assessment in the patient's identified residence and assistance when this is not safe and another plan is required.

·   Carries out social evaluations, including family dynamics, caregiver abilities, communication patterns, high-risks for suicide, neglect, or abuse and plans interventions based on evaluation findings.

·   Provides information and referral services for patients and families/caregivers regarding practical and environmental needs. Hospice of the Midwest provides our staff with the tools necessary to achieve success in this noble service we give to our patients and their families.

You can bring hope and healing to children on campus and their families by providing therapy and counseling assessments. This role is responsible for:

            - Responding to referrals through the provision of comprehensive

            - Manage case plan oversight and re-evaluation as necessary to support the

Provide specialized, pro-active social work services in areas of social casework, social group work, consultation, program development, teaching/training, and research throughout the multiple care settings supported by the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program.



  • Practice specialized social work skills (eg. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) with patients, clients and their families.
  • Responsible for program planning and implementation of social work service to groups of patients or clients and their families for whom highly specialized treatment and care is provided.
  • Assist in the development of novel social services components for the Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Program
