Tell Your Legislators You Will Be There / Learn About the Issues Ahead Of Time

To make the most of the NASW Advocacy Day experience, make sure your meetings are scheduled between 1:10 and 2:45 pm with your state legislators (House and Senate).  Make sure to bring a copy of the Legislators home website page so you have a visual picture of the legislator and capital contact information.   To locate your legislators’ picture, bio, address and contact information, visit  Click on Legislator Lookup, enter your zip code.  To access a legislator’s, click on his/her name.

You will be representing yourself, your agency, your profession, your professional association, and you will be operating on the “turf” of lawmakers.  To be effective, plan to look the part. Business attire is recommended.  Wear clothing and shoes suited for walking and standing for long periods of time.

Continuing Education

This event offers up to 4.5 hours of continuing social work education hours that apply to the renewal of the Missouri Social Worker License.  An evaluation form must be completed in order to obtain the continuing education credit.

$15 for Students and Professionals (includes lunch on Wednesday)

Wednesday - There is limited 2 hour parking around the Capitol.  It is recommended that attendees park in the parking garage on the corner of Madison street and Capitol Ave.  The fee is $6 for the day and is only 2 blocks from the Capitol.
