Self-Care & Supervision:  Promoting Self-Care in Your Supervisees

Presented by Peggy Reed-Lohmeyer, MSW, LCSW

3.0 Clock Hours

Meets 3.0 hour supervision requirement for renewal of acceptable supervisors for licensure.

Social workers use of self is so vital to professional practice, yet new social workers are often unaware or unsure of how set boundaries & take care of themselves in a manner that protects this valuable asset and enables them function at their highest level.

This workshop will provide attendees with valuable information on how to teach & promote self-care practices in their supervisees.  Having supervisees who practice self-care appropriately decreases burn-out, increases productivity & professionalism, and enhances our profession as a whole.  Ensuring our supervisees know how to & do practice appropriate self-care is in the best interest of all involved—our clients, our supervisees, our agencies, & ourselves.

Educational Objectives:

1.Identify multiple components of self-care

2.Identify at least three reasons it is important supervisees develop self-care practices.

3.Identify ways to foster self-care practices in supervisees.

4.Review current social work licensure requirements
